This is the sound
♥
this is the sound of a heart
along with unintended hopes
being shattered as they hit the ground
breaking into a billion little pieces
irreparable the crusted glue
all the scabs torn off slowly
at last they finally fall to the floor w/ the band aid
all that held life together all these months
all healing completely undone
back to the beginning again
utterly empty & alone in the dark
nothing left but the pieces too small to replace
try to hold the pieces together
embedding them like shards of glass
piercing the skin & sinking themselves in
all over a thousand hurts carried for all eternity
no emotions left to feel
source of tears completely barren
the dry tracks of salt pale against ashen cheeks
nonexistent tune to the beat of a dead heart
no music no laughter none
the soul is sapped of joy & hope
every moment knowing it was foolish to hope
b/c hope just brings the deepest hurts
screams issue from pale lips
all color drained as poison from a wound
trembling now in a world so cold
reach out to a favored hallucination
perfection & chaos collide
creating a monster that they cannot control
love & hate begin to merge into one
tongue sings a thousand lovely lies
exchange one love for another
never will the scales level out
never is this heart whole again
nothing left to breathe or be for
what a bitter victory
nonchalance embeds itself in the grin
the smile plastered on the painted face of a doll
a snarl for the victorious superior being
a victory dance in the middle of puddles of blood
all grace replaced for jerky motions
a marionette dancing on severed heartstrings tied
dancing to the beat of a dead heart
scissors cut away at the bonds
the puppet crumples alone on the floor
the scarlet there is her own
lays alone in them mingled blood & tears
darkness sets in
lights on the bitter scene grow dim
a lone marionette crumpled in a mass
has cut its ties at last
all eternity fades to a black abyss
nothings left in this void
the melody of life has died away
all thats left is the beat of a dead heart
