Uprooted
Twisted & rooted in evil
surrounded by darkness
gnarled & knotted
embracing the thorny soil
growing in two directions
ever deepening into the earth
ever straining for Heaven
in the darkness & the light
stretching upward
exerting energy to grab the sky
but being dragged downward
by the weight of the world
eternally awaiting uprooting
